A Few Updates

Wow, I am obviously not good at this blogging thing. But, I figured I'd finally get on and post some updates on our lives!

Todd: Todd made the Summer BYU Ballroom Team and is loving it. He has practice for at least 2 hours a day starting at SEVEN A.M.!! He has several performances coming up that I'm really excited about :) By the way, he had a really great performance last term when he was on the Spring BYU Ballroom Team :)

Todd also has a great job right now as the Marketing Specialist for a local business. He got it through his connection from another company that he was willing to intern at for free for a few months. I used to think it was ludicrous to work for free, but Todd sure has shown me how much working for free for just a while can really pay off in the end!! He's really enjoying it his new job :)

He sure is keeping busy with the Ballroom team and working full-time. Him and I also just finished up a Marketing class that we were taking together. It was the last class we'll take together :( but it sure was fun to work together.


Me: I'm working two jobs right now that are both very challenging for me, but very rewarding. I'm working at a therapeutic boarding school for adolescent girls aged 12-18. I spend time with the girls getting to know them and helping them through tough times. I also do court ordered supervisions for a local agency and love working with all of the cute kids that I get to meet there!!

I'm also graduating on August 11th (in just a little over a month)!! It seems like it's coming up way too soon. I am finishing up 3 classes right now, but will completely be done with my undergrad so soon that I can't believe it. Also, some crazy news: I am the Valedictorian for my August graduating class in the School of Family Life at BYU!!! Crazy, crazy.

That's about it for us right now. We're just keeping busy and can't wait for the little break we'll take for my graduation and for my parents and Todd's parents to come up to visit (which we are super excited about!!) :) One more month till a great vacation!!

My First Interview...

My first ever interview went GREAT! I think it was mostly because the lady interviewing me was soo nice and made me feel very comfortable. I could tell right away that the agency will be a great environment to work in with great people. I feel a lot better now that it's gone really well. I was so nervous beforehand!! I was offered the internship on the spot and will probably contact them soon and accept the position. I'm pretty excited.

More good news... I'm officially graduating in August. Crazy!! I think it'll hit me more when the time gets closer.

There's not much new going on besides that stuff. Now just off to writing the oh, 5 papers I have due in the next couple days. Gotta love school :)

I've created a blog!!

Well, I finally decided to try my hand at this blog business. We'll see if I stick with it or if anyone reads it so that it's even worth it to write on it!!

Some updates on what life has looked like for Todd and I this past semester:

Todd is taking 20 credits this semester, so he's working and studying away all of the time! He's also still taking dance classes and so he's now taking Gold level Ballroom and Gold level Social classes. He just competed in 5 events at Winter DanceSport and it was so fun to watch him. I think he did GREAT and am very proud of him!! Not many girls get to have a husband who asks them to dance on a regular basis (if only some of his skills could rub off on me)!! As for me, I just got called in for my first (ever!) interview today. It's on Thursday and I'm pretty nervous/excited. I really want to get this internship!! I've already set the clothes out that I'll be wearing: a dark blue blouse and a black pencil skirt. What do you think? I'm also finishing up most of my classes this semester. I only have THREE left to take after this semester and I'll finish those up this spring and summer while I do my internship. Then, I'm pretty darn sure I'll be graduating in August. I'm meeting with my advisor tomorrow to finalize the graduation plans. Crazy to think that I'll be a college graduate in just about 5 months!! So weird, but exciting. I'm working as a TA this semester and am really enjoying it... I love all of the experiences college can give you!
